Free Staters clean up neighborhood litter, armed
This story is from last May, but I just found it on nostate.com and it brought tears to my eyes. This type of action is exactly what we must do. There are debates in the 2nd Amendment crowd about legal lobbying vs. prepping for battle and rattling sabers. The intelligent answer I hear from places like WRSA is, “Both.” You do both, always. Cut the Gordian Knot. The Black Panthers drove old ladies to the hospital and went to the capital with rifles. Critical Mass breaks (unjust) laws to support bicycle rights and Tranportation Alternatives has luncheons with city council members. We always need a balanced approach, and these Free Staters get that. Helping the community, humanizing your organization, and legitimizing your views. With one single action. Brilliant.
A question to the floor about this story from the WRSA: why limit open-carry displays to pistols? If state law permits (or, much more boldly, where it does not, in violation of fundamental human rights), why not the same exercise carrying semiautomatic rifles of military utility?
